March 6th - Montavilla / Mt. Tabor Bicycle Tree Planting

Hello Bikers,

 

This Saturday, March 6^th, more trees will be planted with bike power!  This Friends of Trees planting will take place in the Mt. Tabor & Montavilla Neighborhoods.  As always we’ll be hauling all of the trees, tools and people for three planting crews using bicycle trailers and cargo bikes.  Breakfast and Lunch will be fed to all participants!

 

If you would like to participate please meet at the Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church – 5441 SE Belmont St. on Saturday, March 6^th by 8:15 am.  This is about a 4.5 hour commitment; you’ll be done by 1:00 pm.  Please bring your own bicycle and if you have a cargo bike or bike trailer please bring that.  Also dress for the weather as we will plant rain or shine.

On Saturday, December 4th the new bicycle tree planting season begins!  This Friends of Trees planting will take place in the Richmond, Buckman & HAND Neighborhoods in SE Portland.  As always we’ll be hauling all of the trees, tools and people for the planting crews using bicycle trailers and cargo bikes.  Breakfast and Lunch will be fed to all participants!

Of course the notion is utter nonsense.
I didn't mean to offend anyone.
I've been a vegetarian for most of the past 20 years.

When I worked as a carpenter after high school, in Germany, everyone on the crew ate meat, every day. To them it was inconceivable that someone who didn't eat meat (me) could do what they did. It was part of their identity. They kept asking me things like 'what do you eat? Nuts?'

Hi Peter,

Bad timing again this season.  The first Saturday of December is always usually Winter Faire at my kids school, and they are with me this year - and I am volunteering so won't be able to make it.  Also, getting back to you on an earlier question about rain barrels - might be easier (for me anyway) if you search out some blue rain barrels and SEPTL will reimburse you, or give us a cost estimate and we will get the money to you somehow (to be determined).  I'm working the Tool Library this Saturday and will try and remember to check out the barrels at the Church.
