Subject: Pray for Tradd Shepard

Brothers & Sisters in Christ, I am sorry that it has been so long
since we sent out an update email about Tradd. We have all been very
busy. We are so proud of Brooke because she graduated in May from the
College of Charleston with a degree in religious studies. Things have
been going really well for Tradd in the last few months. He has moved
out of our home and is living on his own with two of his friends. His
surgery on his hand was at least partially successful and he now has
significantly better use of his right hand. His wrist is held up in a
normal position and he can extend his fingers. The surgery was not as
successful as Dr. McFadden had hoped, but we are all very grateful
that Tradd has at least some improvement in the function of his hand.
Tradd had a PET/CT scan of his entire body on Thursday (7/28). The
nurse brought the images up on a computer screen and showed us a lot
of the images of Tradd's body. They saw an area on his upper right
shoulder that showed up as yellow on the PET scan. They told us that
they do not think that it is anything, but that they want all of the
doctors to review it and compare the area to past scans and MRIs. The
tumor board meets this Thursday (8/4) and they may discuss Tradd's
case. Brenda is extremely upset and worried about Tradd. We humby
ask that you pray for Tradd that the cancer has not returned and that
the image that they saw is nothing to be concerned about. Tradd is
going to Columbia for 4 weeks (starting in September) to the SC
Vocational Rehabilitation Center for many tests to determine the
physical limits of his arm and what type of job that Tradd is suited
for. We hope that this will be a great opportunity for Tradd to learn
about what God has shaped his to do. We all are so grateful for all
of the prayers and support that you have provided to us. Please
continue to keep Tradd in your thoughts and prayers. May God bless you
and all of your family. Thank you so much, Brenda, Henry, Brooke,
and Tradd
