Notes from last nights Advisory Meeting

  1. Discussion was held with a representative of the CPC committee about whether the town should continue with the Community Preservation Act. The original proposal was that if we dropped out of the program additional funds could be made available for general use. An alternative was suggested whereby the CPC would consider more fully funding the Chestnut Hill bond thereby freeing up cash without raising taxes. The committee asked the CPC to evaluate this option.
  2. Discussion was held with the Personnel Committee. The Board of Selectmen has recommended a pay freeze for the 20 or so full time employees (Typically Dept. Heads) subject to the Salary Admin Plan. The sense of the Advisory Committee was supportive of the Selectmen’s position.
  3. Discussion was held about closing Fayville Hall to save money.
  4. Discussion was held about the K-8 Circuit Breaker problem.
  5. Discussion was held about reviewing our position on Stabilization Funds.
  6. Discusson was held about the costs of brining the South Union School up to a reasonable standard.
