Many of you have alreay paid online. Thank you! Everyone else, payment needs to be made prior to playing in your first game. If you can't make it Friday, please bring it to your first game. We also require everyone to sign a liability waiver (minors need parents signature). Minors also must hand in a signed medical waiver (also requires parents signature). If you played in Spring Leauge or the High School Leauge, we already have your waiver on file and you don't need to submit another waiver. I will have blank waivers available all season, but it streamlines the check-in process if you can print them ahead of time. Please try to get there by 6:15 PM to check-in. I will have a table set-up near the entrance to get people registered the first few weeks of league.
KICKOFF NIGHT
Our opening night (Friday, June 15th) is a hat tournament. This gives folks a chance to meet and play with other members of the league who won't be on their team. Upon arrival, please check-in at the table. We'll get some information from you, get you your disc and draft teams up shortly before 6:45 PM.
PLEASE BRING:
Cleats (if you own a pair)
Water
A WHITE shirt
A DARK (not gray) shirt
LEAGUE PLAY and SOCIALIZING!
League play will begin next week (Thursday June 21st). We will be drafting teams early next week. By mid-week you will receive a welcome email from your captain. Team schedules and rosters will also be available online (
http://southbendultimate.com/e/summer-league-2018) by mid-week. Each week, every team will have 3 short games (to 7) against the same team. Games begin at 6:30 PM and we try to wrap things up by 8:30 PM. After games, we try to get a group of folks together to meet up at Bob's 19th Hole (league sponsor again this year) for pizza and drinks.
SPONSORS
I want to take a moment to give a big THANK YOU to our league sponsors. In addition to Bob's, this summer we also have Polite Aierdales (
http://airedale-terrier.us/) and Mishawaka Clinic (
http://www.mishawakaclinic.com/) as league sponsors this year. If you see Pat and Rhonda walking around with one or two of their pups, please take a moment and say thank you, they've been a league sponsor for pushing 10 years! She mentioned they have puppies for sale right now for anyone interested. Also, when your team plays against Dr. Bryon Thomas please take a moment and say thank you BEFORE ask him about that ankle that's been bothering you, or that tight quad that never seems to stretch out enough...
GOALS FOR THE SEASON
Goals this season are simple:
1. Have FUN playing a great sport (that's why we play!)
2. Make new friends (because frisbee players are awesome!)
3. Improve frisbee skills (regardless of skill level)
4. Have more fun!
I think that covers everything up to this point. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask and we look forward to seeing everyone out there Friday!
