Perl hacker?

We're trying to decode Daniel's autologin password so his family can gain access to his keychain, and we find this post http://www.brock-family.org/gavin/perl/kcpassword.html but we're not perl hackers (we always had Daniel do this stuff), anyone out there understand that enough to decode a kcpassword file?

Just to make sure I'm understanding, but on the drive is there an /etc/kcpassword file? 

Before you run this, I'd copy /etc/kcpassword to somewhere (As far as I can tell the perl code that I have is non-destructive).  I kept the xor method, and instead of writing to the file, I'm reading from the file.

$ perl password.pl
