Outcome Mapping Laboratory 2011, May 23-26 2011, Lebanon
The Outcome Mapping Learning Community (OMLC) is sponsoring a three and a half day learning event in Lebanon in May 2011 for experienced OM users. Terry Smutylo, co-author of the original Outcome Mapping manual, and the Stewards of the OMLC are organizing the Outcome Mapping Laboratory (OM Lab) to enable OM practitioners from across the world to share their learning and innovation experiences and to consult with and obtain support from their peers from other parts of the world, from senior members of the OMLC and from experienced OM consultants and trainers.

The event will be hosted by Development Management International (DMI sarl) in partnership with the Environment & Sustainable Development Unit of the American University of Beirut and coordinated locally by OM Community Steward, Ziad Moussa.

This event includes both workshop and conference style sessions. It will offer participants the opportunity to share their learning on applying OM and to develop new ideas based on the real life scenarios and project examples brought in by participants. The event will provide opportunities for participants to raise and explore challenges and successes from their ongoing work and to seek and contribute to peer-to-peer support and discussions. The main working language for the event will be English but there will be facilitated sessions in French and Spanish.

Designed specifically for people with experience in using and training others in OM, the Lab will mix plenary and focused working groups with panel discussions and demonstration/training sessions.  With the help of senior practitioners and experienced facilitators, the entire event will reflect the core OM values of critical, creative and participatory thinking, combining individual reflection, fun and hard work.

Registration will be open to experienced OM users.  In addition, there will be a competition for a number of grants to experienced OM users whose organizations lack the resources to fund their participation.  All participants will be expected to be prepared to present a case study, and some of the more experienced practitioners may be invited to lead and report on a thematic enquiry during the sessions.  Details of the grants competition are available in the invitation leaflet.

The event will be held at Peaks Mountain Resort in Feytroun – Lebanon, 40 minutes away by car from the Beirut Centre (www.peaks.com.lb <http://www.peaks.com.lb/> ). All inclusive (tuition, hotel, full board and recreational program) registration fees will be USD 1,400 per person (group discounts available).

To register, please visit http://is.gd/WpoIMm and fill in the online application form. In addition, we require that all applicants submit a two page case study summary demonstrating their OM experience. Details of the case study requirements are available in the invitation leaflet. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 1st March.
