Mixed Methods in Impact Evaluation By Dr. Howard White

3ie supports rigorous impact evaluation using quantitative impact evaluation. But quantitative methods alone will rarely allow us to fully understand the causal chain to explain why an intervention is, or isn't working. This presentation provides examples of how qualitative data can improve impact evaluation. It will also elaborate on the application of the theory based approach to impact evaluation.
