Hello all, I hope you are surviving this scorcher of a summer.  I've recently received some upsetting news. One of Julie's watermelon's was taken right of the vine :(  Has anyone else encountered crop thievery?

Bridget and Chris in Garden #1 have had onions and cucumbers stolen.  Pretty sad.

I can only hope that the responsible party(ies), is someone that is
truly hungry and having hard times.
Maybe we should talk about a fence?

Hi all, there have been several instances of produce from the
Community Garden being picked straight from the vine by someone other
than that rabbit or the occasional squirrel. If you see someone in
the garden, say hello and ask if they are part of the program... we
have worked so hard on our plots, and are sad to see our efforts
disappear. My kids were very upset to see our only watermelon gone
the next morning... we planted our fruit as a family.

The plots are rented spaces and maintained by individuals in our
community. Crops are not free for the pickin unless placed on the
picnic table with a FREE sign next to them.

Thanks Neighbors!

Julie
