Apologies....If you haven't noticed, I broke the handle off the hose reel two nights ago.  Not sure exactly how/why this happened and
it was dark so I couldn't investigate.  I kept the handle & intend on repairing.  The reel is still usable but a bit more difficult than before.
If anyone thinks we should temporarily remove the hose & water the old-fashioned way, please respond.  I plan to look at it tonight (8/9) & determine a plan of action.  I also bought new bolts & hope to have the reel securely anchored soon.  Best Regards/Happy Gardening...Eric

Whoops!  I do not use the hose regularly, so my vote may not count.  If we need to remove the reel for repairs I say, go for it.

Good News!
The Hose Reel has been reanchored to the wall & seems secure.  If for some reason it becomes loose again, I'll take care of it.  We also have a replacement 'Crank Handle Repair Kit (#2589)' on the way from ELEY http://www.rapidreel.com/ to replace the broken one.  It should arrive this Fri-Mon & I'll reattach it.  The replacement is free of charge which is nice but probably because it's a recurring problem with the reel design.  Unfortunately I didn't see this while reading reviews prior to purchase.  It's an easy fix but still a hassle.  Once the parts arrive, I'll repair then reattach the hose to the reel.  Until then, we're back to a pile of hose on the ground....

Best Regards,

Update...
The reel and hose are functional but I need to return with a wrench to tighten the hose to the connector. I couldn't tighten enough by hand so it leaks a bit.    Should be done tonight...Monday evening. Thanks for the patience everyone!!

Ok, so I also replaced the gasket in the hose & the leak still presists.  I've concluded the leak is actually a problem with the hose, not the reel.  The connector on the end of the hose has been bent so much that a bit of water leaks out even with a new (thick) gasket.  There are two options:  Buy a new hose or deal with a little water leakage.  Either way is good with me.  I think Kizzy was interested in buying a new hose or additional 25 ft of hose to reach completely across the garden?
Possibly something to talk about at our next meeting.  We have the money if needed....Eric
