For immediate release:

The Writer's Loft at Middle Tennessee State University asked us to share information of their upcoming workshops with you.

The Writer's Loft is excited to have two full days of events for the September orientation weekend, Friday and Saturday, September 12th-13th. Friday sessions have a limited number of spots available to the public on a first come, first serve basis. Friday morning will feature a three-hour workshop by novelist Darnell Arnoult (www.darnellarnoult.com) followed by lunch, then a two-hour afternoon workshop by poet Bill Brown. Registration for the day is $50 and does not include lunch or other or any of the other Loft weekend activities.  However, any paid workshop attendee who wishes to enroll in The Writer's Loft will receive a $50 credit toward the student's first semester tuition.  For more information and online registration, go to http://www.mtsu.edu/theloft then click on Orientation Weekend.

Other weekend events for Loft members and alumni include a Friday evening reception for students, faculty, presenters, alumni and members of the community; Saturday lectures by novelist Linda Busby Parker, novelist Karen Alea and novelist/poet Kory Wells; and a reading and Q&A session with Dawn Shamp (www.dawnshamp.com), author of the new book On Account of Conspicuous Women.
