So sorry to hear about your tragic loss of chickens! How did you know that it was a fisher cat? Were they in the coop?

Yes, I saw this black Fisher cat near the fence.Evidently, it was trying to reenter the coop yard, as I entered to feed them.

We were missing approx 6-7  chicks,so I assume he carried them away and was returning for more food ?

 

The chickens were left out in the fenced in coop area, wire fence + deer neting all around.We normally lock them up in the coop  at night,However, due to the heat,etc we let them roam the yard.  a mistake on hindsight.
