Construction has started

You may have seen crews in the area setting up the work zone to make improvements to OR 99W in south Corvallis.

We’re planning to:

  • Remove and replace the pavement.
  • Apply new striping to the road.
  • Upgrade several curb ramps to meet current ADA standards.

This work will give you a smoother ride, improve visibility and help make the area more accessible, whether you drive, ride, walk or roll.

Traffic impacts

You can expect:

  • Most work to happen at night.
  • Lane and shoulder closures with flaggers directing traffic when needed.
  • Sidewalk and curb ramp closures with pedestrian detours to the nearest available crosswalk.
  • Ramp closures with detours as needed – we'll let you know when we have a better idea of when the OR 99W ramp to OR 34 / U.S. 20 closure will start.
  • Construction noise – saw cutting concrete can get loud.
  • Delays. Plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Businesses in the work zone will remain open during construction. Please continue to support local businesses while work is underway.

Pay attention in work zones, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work. Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.

Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
