I just got a call from Washington. It was a number I didn't recognize so I did not answer it it went to voicemail. I checked my voicemail and there's some music came on that kind of sounded like the bank music and it was kind of garbled but then they said that I was being charged for the purchase of a new iPhone and it if I had not ordered that I should click on their number and talk to them. Do not click on any numbers the number for the callback number was in Texas. called my bank and they said yes this is a new scam that's been running for about 2 days now.

        Do not respond to anything until you talk to your bank. Mark w

Always go directly to the company/group website or hone number, not through links or callback numbers.

I got the same call.  They don't have a charge number for me, so I can forget it.  Phishing for you to call them.

Recent fraud experience with Chase (Amazon):  They immediately and correctly automatically questioned the charge.

I got the same call again yesterday they seem to be quite persistent

I have Xfinity internet with associated VOIP telephone service and a Consumer Cellular phone and both are currently telling me that I don't need to put a 1 in front of the number I am dialing and please try again.

I have been a techie since 1969 and this has me puzzled. I have rebooted everything and wonder if others are having trouble like me.

I have now tried a call out of 541 to 503 and am having success.....weird

Pinging devices can help isolate the problem, if practical.

Ok, I have figured out that the number I am calling in Corvallis is the culprit and If I gave the number to you, you could create my problem, currently.

I will see what it does in the morning when the business opens....my guess would be some improper configuration with the business phone switch.
