Free full size bed available

Hi neighbors, I've got an old but quite comfy bed I need to get rid of and I'd really like to keep it out of the landfill. It's full size with basic metal frame and box spring and a 2-inch memory foam topper. I recently had a guest tell me it was the most comfortable bed he's slept on!

Alternatively, if I can't find any takers, I'd also welcome suggestions for disposing of this as I don't have any place to hold it while I look for its new home.

Furniture share will take your bed for a small charge. It stays local for a family in need.

Oregon has a mattress recycling program. Google mattress recycling and you can find the Oregon website there.

Mark is right about Furniture Share.  However, their only depot now is in Albany.   

They list mattresses and boxsprings in "new-good condition". Not headboards and footboards.

It's wise to call ahead to be sure they are accepting certain items at this time, and for instructions. We got there with a desk that had electrical outlets, which we had to unwire and remove in the parking lot under less than wonderful weather.
