skunk carrying white thing

About 5:30am a striped skunk traveled through our back yard with a relatively large bright white object in its mouth. It seemed about 1/4 the size of the skunk, and well, maybe a plush toy?, since the object had to squeeze through/under our fence/gate. Skunks got nests? We assume the skunk can easily climb over our gate even if we do things to make it harder to go under and through? sue
