From what I’ve been able to gather from posts on Facebook and from an officer who visited my home yesterday morning:
A “shots fired” call was made to the police, and the caller was reportedly the individual who discharged the weapon.
The incident occurred in the upper old campground near the restrooms.
The shot resulted in the death of a man who may have been living in the park area in a blue car with two large pit bulls. The other individual remained on the scene to communicate with the police.
The officer who came to my home at 11:30am said it appears to have been a specific, isolated incident rather than a random act. He did not express concern about broader community safety.
He asked whether my outdoor cameras captured footage of the end of Park Ave, but unfortunately they only cover my driveway and back door, not the street.
Can anyone fill me in on what happened on good night today? I live near there and it’s a little unsettling.TIA
