Singapore is one of the most dense cities in the world. Why can't Corvallis have building codes and laws like Singapore. When a new building is built it has to incorporate in the building the same amount of land growing space that it displaces. I'm not sure I explained this very clearly but look it up it's just incredible. I'm just watching a show called the human footprint on OPB and it has a good section on Singapore I'm sure there are other sources it's just amazing. Mark w

Not entirely the same, but Benton Soil and Water with the Greenbelt Land Trust just launched their Nature Neighbors program (https://nature-neighbors.org) which gives Benton county residents a lot of tools for creating meaningful green space on their property.  Not the same as working it into building codes, but gives individuals some guidance on getting started.
