Thank you for the update!

Follow-up questions...
- What is the plan to address the next block to the West between Santa Fe & Kalamath? It's great that we now have this share-use connection, but we need something on the next block. Could we consider installing https://safetlane.com/ bike lane dividers in the roadway to give bike commuters a protected area off the sidewalk?

- The concrete wall installed with the underpass project is FANTASTIC! Can we replicate it over I-25? Again, maybe we could supplement the existing installation with https://safetlane.com/ installed on top of the curb to increase the safety for bike riders & pedestrians.

Bottom line, we need to maintain the same level of comfort with these installations, but unfortunately, we haven't been successful in doing so.

Please pass these questions & suggestions on to the appropriate people.

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson

Hello all,

Thanks to the successful partnership between the City and County of Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure and contractor SEMA Construction, Inc., we are excited to announce that the Alameda Underpass Rehabilitation project between Santa Fe Drive and Cherokee Street is now substantially complete. This project has successfully:
  • Stabilized the deteriorating walls and made ADA improvements throughout the project zone;
  • Developed a new grade-separated, ADA-compliant sidewalk/multiuse path on the north side of Alameda;
  • Applied a new paved surface across all lanes of traffic; and
  • Improved lighting, barrier, and storm sewer infrastructure.
Pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike can now navigate this busy corridor more safely and efficiently. This $7.8 million project was funded by the voter-approved Elevate Denver Bond and was completed under budget.

While the project has reached substantial completion, crews will finalize lighting and barrier installation as well as seeding operations over the next few weeks. No significant impacts to the traveling public are anticipated during this work, other than approximately one week each of single lane closures in the eastbound and westbound lanes.

We greatly appreciate the public's and surrounding community's patience during this important rehabilitation project for the City!
