The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness will be sponsoring a delivery of a one-day training course titled, "Protective Measures Course (PER-336).” The course will be instructed by the Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). There is no-cost to attend this course.

 

Course Description:

The Protective Measures Course provides learners the foundational knowledge to identify risks and vulnerabilities to a facility, venue, or event and to identify various types of protective measures to mitigate an IED threat. Learners have the opportunity to apply concepts introduced throughout the course with hands-on activities. This is a one day, in-person instructor-led training covering the following topics: explosive effects, identifying risk, protective measures, appropriate protective measures, and special event and public gathering security.

 

Audience:

Critical Infrastructure Owners and Operators, Public Safety Officers, Emergency Managers, Security Officers, Law Enforcement Officials, and Private Sector Security Professionals

 

Session & Registration:

You must have a FEMA SID number before you can apply for the class. If you need a FEMA SID number, go to: https://cdp.dhs.gov/FEMASID and click “Register for FEMA SID” or click “Forgot FEMA SID?” if you have forgotten your FEMA SID. Registering for a FEMA SID number does not register you for this class. You must apply for the class separately by following the instructions in the attached .pdf. Once registered, email cpet...@njohsp.gov for additional steps required for base access.
