Aloha All,

1st,

 I want to thank you all for your patience in waiting for some kind of news. Well it's time we are brought up to speed together. Cause people need to know all the details so we as a community can make a vote on SOURCE happening or Not this year.  It has been a pondering issue for everyone. I know that the announcement came to many as a shock but there are many things going on behind the scenes as we all know. Here is what I know to be happening. 

I am a volunteer as is everyone else. My first Source was 2009. I started in SOURCE by creating a Fire Department. We had 1 10x10 and a small tent. It was are first edition...... Our goal was to provide a safe place for fire dancers to store there things as well as having area that had a safety team close. 2010 we stepped it up with a car port and sound... Lol.. as years went on so did the level of Inspiration and Creativity. Fire Shows, Black Light Dome, The Wedding, Ohana Village - Ops...I try to deny how involved I am but I am reminded by the Joy of Members of the SOURCE Family. I love you all. You have helped shape me into who i am over the last 6 years.

As many of you know, SOURCE is in a Heavy Law Suit. And there is just a lot that can be said about it. Other then, It threatens SOURCE and the Root Person who founded it. When the time comes where information can be shared publicly... It will be, but until then you will not see a lot about it. I ask that nothing about the matter be mentioned on any of the Threads SOURCE hosts after this email. Because of the implications it could have on the case, we must wait until advisers give us the "ok". I know that is a big request. But please hear me on this.

Fund Raising!!!!    What, Why, Who..........Huh......

So a common ? is: "Where does the Fundraising go?" And that's one of the best ?'s someone could ask.I have asked it many times.....

Well the $ raised after SOURCE  2013 at events (by the SourceCORE Project Team) went to the expenses of the CORE Project trip. Now we only had 2 or 3 Fundraisers for the Trip. The Project went $5000+ under Budget. A few SourceCORE Project Team members put forth that money. With no Hesitation.... As well as SOURCE Provided $3400.00 to the Project for materials. Most People on the trip had to bear the weight of expenses that we had hoped would come from fund raising.

So with that being said. The Events that have happened since Burning Man (Oct 27th / Nov 30th) have gone to reimbursements.

A % from the last 2 events was split between the folks who covered some of the SourceCORE costs.

We have only covered just over a 1/3 of what we owe to our Community. As well as the $ SOURCE gave us was to be paid back as best we could in the window of 2013. Todd K spent 3k on this trip, so people wouldn't go without.

I have 6 bins of tools in California that I couldn't bring back.

Ben Allotted extra funds in the greatest time of need.  So there is still much to do.....  A total $483 has been raised to go back Source thus far. The rest to has gone to Paying Artist for there time and to SourceCORE financial angels...

I was asked a bit ago to begin focusing on helping Rebuild the SOURCE Family. And begin shifting in more direct fund raising for Source itself. I do agree because We have many things to raise Money for things Like the Law Suit, or a deposit. on a new location. We will continue to reimburse those from the core as well as begin shifting Financial objectives back to the direct festival. Where funds go to will be continuously updated as time goes on. The money world has never been my area of SOURCE but I will continue to host events to Raise money for all of the SOURCE  Family and its needs.

What is "SourceCORE"

Well not to sound like a sarcastic ass hole but........ Burning Man has a Large Project open to the world.

Called The "CORE BURNS"  Circle Of Regional Effigies

The concept is: When a core of people from a Regional Burn, Brings a project that symbolizes there community. And........ Burns It!!!!! Putting lives on hold, focusing on united goal, for a bigger vision.

There have been a few comments made  about the Creation of the CORE. Mostly based off of confusion  or miss understanding. People not knowing if they were Core or  not. I would say, don't worry about a  "Name" of a PROJECT and be careful not to unintentionally create the Energy of Separation from it... If the whole thing triggers you..... I would suggest examining yourself and your fears.... Don't get caught up in a name. . Think of it more as SOURCE OutReach. Taking SOURCE to the public.

To the Folks who Traveled with the SourceCORE Project, A reminder.....

We worked as a Core Group from SOURCE . The Project was called the CORE. It doesn't make us any better then anyone else in Source, Just Dustier. And closer with each other as friends.

What makes up a "Core" of a Festival is the Hearts and Intentions of it's Participants. Not a name of a Summer Burning Man Project. Anyone who has put SOURCE before themselves is "Core". As many people did this summer, and in years past regardless it they made it to Playa this year..

As many of you know we lost the use of the YMCA Camp Keanae because of the Law Suit Situation. The decision on who, what, when, etc.. at the YMCA was removed from Andy and placed into the Board of directors. Both Andy and Charlie spoke on our behalf. But to no avail.

Ben lead a inspection team to Camp Maluhia, as well as some potential properties for purchase. 

The properties looked at were amazing and could handle many years of Source to come. It would be starting at ground 0, but Source has made miracles happen before. And creating a permanent home for Source is very appealing.

Maluhia as a venue was very promising. It has cabins and bunks for 200+ multiple fields for camping / theme camps and room for Source. We decided that we would set our sites for Maluhia, we just needed to hear from the SOURCE community at large. There was a definite presence of people wanting to run/own the project of a theme camp or art project of some kind. Which is great cause it's 1/2 of what Source is. People's individual styles and creativity coming together on amazing projects.

Another side of Source that many do not see, is the Administration side of things. The Coordinators of the different elements of Source. 

Ben and I began asking people who have filled these Crucial rolls before as well as many freely shared there thoughts. We have heard 3 mixed opinions. 

1) Post pone for a pre summer SOURCE .

2)Take the year off and Fund Raise for law suit and 2015 SOURCE .

3) Doesn't matter. If happens they will show up and participate.

Now the majority of the folks "I" spoke too said, "Take the year off and heal our wounds." There were plenty of people who liked the Idea of a Pre Summer Source. But It quickly became apparent to me that the amount of people who have filled the Crucial Rolls who spoke of feeling tired, Burnt out, etc was growing! 

It just seemed like people (including myself) would come, work, etc.. on auto pilot basically. Not necessarily out of desire, but almost obligation. But we only heard from a hand full of people.

We wanted to hear from all Sourcers before the call was made. Weeks ago Ben and I were consumed by the responsibilities of our other lives and that call for opinion never made it out.

In the mean time, because we didn't put a deposit down (Because of waiting for people's input) The dates were rented to others. Hence loosing the dates in February.......

Meaning we are back to the ground level again Regarding February...

No venue, and not tons of staff....   

Many have seen but if you haven't It pains me to Re :OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE that,

----------------THERE IS NO SOURCE THIS FEBRUARY 2014!!!!------------

Now i'm not saying SOURCE is over.....

Just postponed.... 

Maluhia does have availability in May 2014

So this is something to discuss right away. Because if it is to happen, we must start planning now. And SOURCE will need people to fill lots of rolls for a May Source 2014.

BUT THERE NEEDS TO BE A VOTE FROM EVERYONE!!!!!

Something to consider...

 "Ironic enough", Because of SOURCE , I got Hired to be the Assistant to the Director of Tribal Fest. Which is held in North Cali every May for the last 14 years. So Myself and Members of Merkabah Fire Productions (Which is 1/3 of the immediate 8 man 24/7 Ops crew who have made up the current Operation team.) Will not be here in May. And perhaps June as well. I am working on a proposal to take a team of Artists from around the US to Israel. This is my primary Goal. To make this happen. I will keep everyone aware of the progress. 

There are many capable of doing the job I do and perhaps it's time for a new generation of Ops.....(Other.People.Shit).... I am hear to coach and Help bring up new leaders in the Ops, Fire Safety, and Artist Support Services worlds. Those are only 3 of the many hats that will need to be wore this year by new people.

Regardless of the decision of the community i will continue to help raise awareness and funds for SOURCE . All elements of it. Anyway I can serve up until April.

Aloha SOURCE ohana, I have a numerology app on my iphone which I check regularly and use to do charts according to the book , "Numerology and the Divine Triangle" by Faith Javane and Dusty Bunker.  I want to share the meaning of Number Seven 7 vibration for the year, month and day.

 "A year for solitude and rest. It is a time to study and perfect the inner self. It is a time for introspection. Success and happiness come through study of the deeper meanings of life. Materialistic pursuits should be avoided. Money will come in only if not sought after. The less pushing the greater the intake- and vice versa.

 The pitfalls to avoid are those of neglecting the health, forcing issues, being critical, and allowing underground inner fears and complexes to rise."

#7 month means  this month you will put your attention inward. You will ponder life, your purpose, and come up with new ideas. This isn't the best cycle for matters of love and romance since 7 is spiritual in nature. Visualizing the type of relationship you want to have for yourself is your best approach.

 A 7 cycle usually suggests a retirement or temporary leave of absence in some manner. You are likely to sense a deeper awareness and understanding about your job or your expertise. The first week in this cycle as well as the third week, hold the best possibilities.

A 7 day means a 'time out' day meditate, go for a walk, be alone, read a book, back up your computer, and learn new things."

So family, it may just be the year to reflect and perfect our visions and purpose for SOURCE Festival and community. I would love for each of us to continue to tell our stories of how SOURCE has influenced our lives....video archives ...even I need to burn a fire under my butt and get all the wonderful pix and video I've taken, to you masters of mixing and share with you all. We can't be in all the groovy happenings at each SOURCE Festival and seeing photos and videos we create, let's us share in those experiences. Especially if we've never been to a SOURCE gathering or just couldn't be there physically that particular year.

 My intuition feels to let it slide this year, reflect, have many FUN(d) raiser events, support family during challenges- visualize the best possible outcome,  support Andy for the YE OLE HAWAIIAN RENAISSANCE FAIR  if she is planning on it again...get creative!

I'm on the mainland and going with the flow with family in CA and OR. I was planning on coming back to Maui for the rest of winter March April May, but that may change. I've been thinking of a new banner :)   to redo a painting I did years ago, "A Time For All Seasons" which has a rainbow background and openings in space with a tree branch going through the seasons...bubbles off into infinity.  Seven colors of rainbow, chakras,for the 7th year. Please feel free to use banners for gigs if you need while I'm away.
