| | Hey New York! June is finally here, which means Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage begins this month! We’re kicking off our free concerts in Central Park with a can’t-miss opening night performance featuring Herbie Hancock and Keyon Harrold on June 11, presented in association with Blue Note Jazz Festival. Throughout the month, our free shows will let us explore the sounds of Australia; travel to France with hip hop artist MC Solaar; and dance at Carnival featuring Brazilian street band Monobloco. We’ll celebrate Juneteenth in Harlem with a screening of the Oscar®-winning documentary Summer of Soul; enjoy a homecoming performance in Queens with hometown rapper Action Bronson; begin our Coney Island series with with the incomparable R&B singer Stephanie Mills; and celebrate the return of our Metropolitan Opera Summer Recital Series in all five boroughs. We’ll also have several ticketed benefit shows in Central Park that help support SummerStage including AURORA, Modest Mouse, Trombone Shorty and more. Tickets are still available. | |
