Project WASTE at Muskrat Cove

City of Water Day: Guided Salt Marsh Tour
Join the NYC Parks Stewardship team and Professional Wetland Scientists on a guided walk of Soundview Park and its neighboring wetlands. This walk and tour will highlight previous restoration work at Soundview Park and preview an upcoming restoration site still in the design phase. Volunteers will learn about the value of wetlands for urban areas as well as the challenges critical salt marshes face due to climate change. Participants will also learn how they can get involved in ongoing volunteer opportunities and take part in a wetland clean-up at the end of the tour.

Four Parks 5K Race starting at Franz Sigel Park
Run or walk through the four parks of the historic lower Grand Concourse. Starting at Franz Sigel Park, run past the Bronx Supreme Court House, the Lorelei Fountain of Joyce Kilmer Park, the Rose Gardens at Mullaly Park, Yankee Stadium, and the track at Macombs Dam Park. All participants get a race shirt, finisher's patch, bib and live timing results! Registration is $18 until the end of July.

Gardens for the City Program
New York Restoration Project
Is there a community space in your neighborhood you’d like to see transformed? If so, apply for NYRP’s help. NYRP provides support for projects of various scales — from building a few vegetable beds to large-scale restoration work. NYRP helps provide materials, horticultural knowledge, environmental education, and construction expertise in order to help create community gardens and accessible landscapes in under-resourced neighborhoods.

Good Sports Equipment Donations
Good Sports
All interested programs must submit an application in order to be considered for an equipment donation. All applicants must directly serve youth between the ages of 3-18, serve youth in an economically disadvantaged area, and provide access to play for kids. Good Sports is not able to donate to short term events such as sports camps, running/walking events or tournaments. Please review the eligibility guidelines before applying.
