A good evening to you all,
As I get ready for bed/work tomorrow morning, while watching How I Met Your Mother, tired from a long, but fun Friday, I can't even fathom of how epic the next 24 hours are going to be...legendary is an understatement.
I recall a little over 2 years ago right before our 1st EP show, I listed off our accomplishments then. Here's what we had under our belts back in 2015:
- We just released our debut EP, Unannounced.
- We had our 1st CARA nomination, eventually turning into our first win.
- We only had 3 retreats under our belts.
- We just established a decent fan-base and were beginning to be recognized within the Boston and a cappella communities.
To save us all from reading (and me typing) a novel of all our accomplishments we've made since then...all I want to say is thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you to every single one of you for all of your contributions, your talents, and your incredible resilience and dedication to making this group the best it can be. As a group, we have truly gone above and beyond in all aspects of being a music ensemble and a hard working organization. One of the biggest and most beautiful characteristics that this group excels at, a characteristic that's grown tremendously over the past couple years, and yet it's been apparent since this group was born...is being a family.
Love is what keeps Sound Off moving forward. Our love of making passionate music, our love to be better people and helping one another, our love to making sure everyone has a platform to express the best version of his or herself and always remembering that no matter what happens, showing love, respect, and acts of kindness to one another and to everyone who has the opportunity to hear us sing will change the world...take that as you will.
Congratulations on the completion and release of Not A Drill. Be proud of this one folks!! Some of our best work for sure, showcasing our versatility, power, and uniqueness in our sound. Enjoy yourselves this weekend. Enjoy being on stage in front of your friends and family, enjoy the festivities, and THE SINGING!! Just remember to have fun!! :)
"We must never forget that music is movement, always going somewhere, shifting and changing, and flowing, from one note to another; and that movement can tell us more about the way we feel than a million words can say."
~ Leonard Bernstein
See you all later today! Rest up, sleep well, and dream sweetly.
I love you all to the moon and back, forever and always,
KG
