Hi,

does someone know a simple free VST plug that works with SM that flips
the phase on one side of a stereo stream?

Thanks.

I meant to reply in the forum, but I guess I accidentally PM'd
instead. Does FreeG by Sonalksis work for what you want to do? What
happens when you invert the phase on a stereo file using a stereo VST
plugin? Does it flip one side or both?

I think the phase-flip filps both channels. All free VST plugs I
checked do this. I found no way to unlink the bahaviour (like with
plugs in ProTools).

Maybe a feature suggestion for justin to implement this. I constantly
get stereo recordings from mixers who used a cable that was wired the
wrong way. Would be great if one could spot them directly to PT in the
correct state.

Wow! I thought at first, there has to be a free plug in to do this!
But there isn't, other than something like Q10(far from free!).

Internally we have the code to flip polarity for the built in m/s
decoder, so it'd be pretty trivial to be able to add this function as
well.

I have an idea on how we can incorporate this into the playback for
something we're working on for the future(vague huh?). But let me ask
this... would you like to be able to add some sort of flag to Channel
Layout to store a phase flip?

ie... L/R become Lº/R or something similar? For production recordings
this would become something like A1/A2º/A3/A4º

?

Actually there is a free plugin to flip (90°/180°) individual channel
of a stereo sound, it's PhaseTone from Tritone Digital:

IIRC you also need to install the Cyclin'74 Pluggo extension.

Thanks for that. I decided not to install the pluggo-engine some time
ago because it causes all sorts of trouble as RTAS with PT. Not sure
if you can skip the RTAS part of pluggo and only install VST.

I finally found something and it´s free:

As if they read my posting it has just been released ;-)

Even if Pluggo runtime works perfectly here (OS X.4.11 PT LE 7.4 and
Nuendo 4.1.3), this is a great info. Thanks Pugnax.

Bye.

What plugin did this point to because the link no longer points to anything free.  I can't tell from the URL unfortunately the name of the plugin.
