Thanks, Justin. Before we can start working on adding people, I need to know the basics of the job to get that set up in Workday.

Could you provide the pay rate, hours per week, job title, and number of positions you need?

I attached a spreadsheet with tentative personnel to be onboarded for the 2025-2026 school year.
I believe there is at least one other person waiting to be trained and the spreadsheet will be updated once they have done so.

Hi Justin,

If the pay rate is the same, why do we need three different positions? Couldn't it just be a job titled SPEC Sound Technician for everyone?

Hi Danielle,

The pay rates are 25$/hour for all jobs. As for hours per week, we don't work regular hours, but on whether we have events scheduled for any particular week. There are three positions: director, sub-chair, and technicians. I think they should be detailed in the spreadsheet.

I just received approval for the positions in Workday this morning. Could you please have everyone sign and return this offer letter to me? With this document, I can ask my supervisor to place everyone in their positions in Workday.

Totally understand your question---realistically it would be more convenient if we were lumped all into the sound tech category given that we're paid the same. I'm a new director this semester, so am not familiar with the history of how onboarding worked in previous semesters. Feel free to run with the one job title on Workday and I'll let you know if things change.

Thanks, Carol! This is a really nice spreadsheet. I'm wondering if it's possible to add a place where I can note how many hours I've approved in Workday? For example, Justin submitted a timesheet for 5 hours, so I would want to note that I've approved 5 hours so far.
