Salaam Dear Community,

No doubt, the last few months have been difficult on the American Muslim community and beyond. But with that comes a silver lining. It has sparked an energy in the community to organize in support of Muslims like never before.

With that vision in mind, the need to expand the Grassroots Iftar, now in its 3rd year, was never more obvious. So this year's Organizing Committee has put together Grassroots Iftar events in 3 areas - Central New Jersey, South Florida and the DMV Capital region - on the same night, Saturday, June 3rd, 2017.

Participants will engage in small group discussions using the World Cafe method on various pertinent issues. Groups will also be given an opportunity to hear about current movements being built by experienced activists to address these issues and ways to get involved and contribute. The event will wrap up with salaat, iftar and dinner, and include ample opportunity for networking and building strong, organizing ties.
