How to share files

Hi Guys,

I feel very stupid by having to ask you this, but ChatGPT didn't help me out as much as I hoped so I have to ask here I think.

I'm new and am trying to share some folders. Everytime I open a folder it seems empty, but I know for sure that there's songs in the map.

When I share the map I don't see anything happening at the tab 'Uploads'. 

Does somebody know how to fix this? Is it a bug or does it just work like this where I don't see anything happening?

When you share a folder, you are only making it possible for people to search, browse, and download from that folder. It does not put the contents of that folder in some other neutral location. Only when someone chooses to download something from it will you see uploads happening. That will be someone connecting to your computer to download that specific content. If it's not happening, then either no one wants any of your files yet, or your computer is difficult to connect to because one or both of you do not have port forwarding set up. Port forwarding lets traffic, such as a download request from another Soulseek user, get from your router (the gateway between you and the Internet) to the Soulseek app on your computer.
