It may depend on the router model. I just read an user of the ATT Gateway BGW320-500 saying it doesn't allow port redirections, he had to buy a different one and the speed decreased. But for the general case, you should download its user manual, have a look at it and try to access the router configuration with the web browser as instructed -of course, be careful-. There must be a section about Port forwarding. According to duck.ia, other possible names are Virtual Server, Port Mapping, Application Sharing or NAT Forwarding. There you have to insert the rule(s) that mean this:

"Redirect all external incoming connections to the PORT1 and PORT2 of this router to the same ports of the machine PC-IP, for TCP/IP protocol."

PORT1 is the number you have set in Souseek's Options/Login/Listening port. Supposing it was 44321, PORT2 would be 44322. The PC-IP is the IP address or your computer in the LAN, the local home network. Search how to find it for your OS and connection type (ethernet, wireless).

In case your system gets its IP dynamically from the router, make it static in your OS network options, disabling the DHCP request; otherwise, after reconnection you'll miss what the router sends. Set it to something like 192.168.1.xx, being xx greater than 1 (that's usually the router) and smaller than 255. For example, 192.168.1.30 . If the web browser's URL to the router configuration shows its IP is 192.168.0.1 (not a "1" but a "0"), set your IP to 192.168.0.30 .

With  the router correctly configured to redirect the external connections to your PC, your firewall may still block them. Find how to configure it to allow incoming connections to those two ports of your PC. Some may need just the name of the program, SoulseekQT.

During the tests, use Soulseek's Options/Login/Listening port/Check ports.
