Hi guys, pretty new to soulseek and using it for DJ'ing etc..but I just wondered if anyone had any advice about how to locate the tracks with the best sound quality ? For example when I search for a particular track obviously I get a lot of results but which one should i download? Should I be looking for higher KBPS or "size" as it states in one of the columns. Any advice greatly appreciated :)

FLAC files are way better than MP3 ...  320 KPBS is usually the best quality you will be able to get ... When you search for an artist ... look in the bottom panel there is a filter ... type FLAC in there ... see what comes up

Just because FLAC is a higher bit rate doesn't mean the quality is better.
People get so carried away by FLAC. If someone heavily compresses a FLAC (say to level 8 or 9), then it's probably no better than a 320.
I prefer zero compression Flac's, which end up being larger file sizes.

If I create my own FLAC's, I always set the compression to zero.

What i did was set a global filter of "minbitrate:192" which hides results with lower sound quality. you can set this to 320 if you only want cd-quality files, though be aware that this will limit your search results.

FLAC compression level has not impact on the sound, it is the compression (like a ZIP archive) level of the bits, not modification of the content.
