i can't upgrade my mac, is it possible to DL soulseek an make it compatible on a version 10.6.8

I don't believe that's possible, sorry. The client uses the Qt framework which requires OSX 10.7 or higher.

Take a lok at www.soulseekqt.net/news/node/2402 this mentions http://www.slsknet.org/SoulseekQt/Mac/SoulseekQt-1-26-2013.dmg which I am using with great results. The thread mentions a couple of other versions which I have not tried, but I do believe one of these will hopefully work for you. I am using Mac OS X 10.6.8 on a Macbook pro 2.33Ghz intel core 2 duo
