Socket Error When Trying to Access My Account

Hi friends,

I hope you're doing well. I'm reaching out because I haven't been able to access my account — every time I try to connect, I get a "socket error" message.

I've already uninstalled the program completely (including all root files) and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I even tried the 2025 version, but I’m still getting the same error.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm really stuck here!

I'm getting the following error.

Login failed. Reported failure reason: socket error. Please change your login settings in the Options tab and try reconnecting.

I've tried messing with the settings but to be honest I have no idea what I'm doing.

Hello I too am experiencing this error and find it very frustrating with seemingly no way to fix but I guess at least I'm not alone here. I love SoulSeek to death so I hope it is fixed very soon....

Getting the same thing as well. I had just made a donation and it immediately stopped working. I thought it was something on my end but appears it is not. Thanks for sharing, folks!

yes, same problem. ive been using soulseek for years with no issues, restarted my laptop today, and upon opening soulseek was met with "soulseek login failed. socket error". i tried changing server port but it does not fix. also if i check ports, it says soulseek client is configured correctly"

update - closed soulseek for an hour, and opened just now, and it seems to be working good again. hopefully stays working properly.

Same here. Yesterday i downloaded two songs and then appeared the socket error. Im totally newbie with Soulseek.
