Many of us believe that files should be freely shared on Soulseek, not traded or sold. Please give us some way to identify users who have locked files that aren't shared with any group and to add that list of users automatically to the list of users that we don't share with.

You share your own files collection? And your files are indexed by artist?

You're welcome here. Send me a message and I will add you to my userslist.

If I'm downloading something from you, I will add you to my user list at the same time.

Be kind, that's what will get you the furtest.

Yes, I share everything and I believe that most of them are indexed by artist. They can all be found by searching. I do try kindness first. I have tried sending many messages to users with locked files asking if they have a group that they share with and I have received responses perhaps 5% of the time. Users like you are the exception; most users ignore my requests. One responded that he/she only trades or sells files. Of course, anyone I have blocked from downloading my files due to non-sharing will be unblocked if they unblock me and request access. Because the set of users that shares everything is effectively blocked from the set of users that only trades files (we have nothing to trade that isn't already shared), it's only fair to let those who share everything to place a default block on those who don't. Perhaps the best way to do it is to allow users to only block users by default if they don't share files with a user group. That way, if user1 sees files locked by user2 but user2 isn't blocked by default, user1 knows user2 does share with a group and that access to user2's files can be requested. If Soulseek could display different icons for locked files that are shared with a group vs. files that are not, that would also help.  It's extremely tedious to request access every time one encounters locked files and get responses only 5% of the time.

My Shares are open,

I check downloader info, if they're not sharing, I click un-share and Ignore.
