SoulseekQT build 2016.4.24
Windows 7 Ultimate

A Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library window pops up with the following message:
"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way . Please contact the application's support team for more information"

This has happened several times in the past, not every time but when it happens the files that are downloading do not resume and I am left with partially downloaded folders. I had about 30 incomplete albums after the shutdown. Then i got about half way through searching for them again and finding the same user and it happened again.

If I quit Soulseek myself then any current downloads resume when I run it again however, if the Runtime Library terminates or aborts all current downloads are gone from the Downloads tab.

Any ideas?

Thanks

How easy do you think it would be to get it to happen again? I can set you up with a debug executable, but you'd also have to set up Dr. MingW on your machine to capture the crash when it happens. If you want to try it out I'll post a link to the executable and explain how to set it up.

runtime crashes happen it's no big. the files will start again as long as they are in your que they will restart maybe not right away maybe not until next restart but you shouldn't need to redownload the files. excessive crashes seem to occur when memory is low. try reducing the memory load by closing other apps while slsk is running

I am more concerned with why they are gone from the Transfers/Downloads window. I can live with the crashes if the files resume downloads but they are gone from the download que. The partially downloaded albums are still in the complete & downloading folders but there is no trace of them in soulseek at all. Its like the session never happened because the users I added during the session are gone as well.

I guess it wouldn't save to some .dat file when it crashes so maybe I can't live with the crash.

Thanks

Under Options->General, try setting "Save client data every..." to something other than 60 minutes. If it saves more frequently, there's less of a chance of data loss.
