Changing user account

Hello, if I change my username (and essentially the user) on the nicotine+ program, I see that it still saves all chats I've had with the previous username.

Will other people be able to see that and tell that my new user is linked to my old user? 

I want to start fresh, and have my new account be unknown to those who knew me by my previous username.
