Request: better control over connect/disconnect

This is something that's rarely an issue, I don't think I've ever seen it before the recent issues, but:

When the server has been down for a considerable length of time the client does not reconnect itself when it comes back up, the connect/disconnect is stuck on "Connecting..." and I need to restart the client (2024.2.4) to connect.

This does not seem to be an issue when the server has only been down for a short time.

My guess is that if I was able to manually interrupt the 'Connecting..." I would be able to manually connect without restarting the client.
