Runtime error

Hi!

I'm using SoulseekQt 2016.4.24 on Windows 7. Soulseek will crash several times a day without me doing anything in particular to cause it. I always get the same error message, see attached picture.

I can set you up with a debug version of the client so we can see what's causing the crash, but it requires installing a special kind of debugger (Dr. MingW) to catch it. I can do it for you via TeamViewer if you're up for it, or I can instruct you over Hangouts. Would you be interested?

Same problem. And also last two days soulseek sometimes disconnecting and can't connect again without restart.

Your client crashes too? Charlotte started having these problems when she upgraded to the latest version from a 2014 build, so I'm thinking it might have something to do with the upgraded version of Qt in the newer builds. We're trying out different builds in between 2014 and 2016 to see if the problem starts manifesting with a particular version, and I'm also working on rebuilding the latest client with the older Qt 5.3 (which is used by the 2014 version Charlotte was using), as well as the newest Qt 5.7, and we're going to try and see if any of these make a difference.

i also had the same problem with disconnection and not being able to reconnect without restarting the program! however, i thought the crashes were more important, so i just focused on that. the 2015 version i'm testing now has so far been stable with no crashes or disconnection!

I am having the SAME "C++ Runtime" crash every 2 days. I noticed that those crashes began to happen when i shared more files, i think that since 300,000 files crashing starts. My friend is using old soulseek 157 and he has the same problem with crashes, he is also sharing a lot of files.

I am not sure it's the same cause for the crash then.. I share only about 1000 files and I still get a lot of crashes

I don't know what to do with this problem, i had the same issue on Windows 10 Enterprise x64, i always update drivers, directx, vcredists, etc to newest versions, so it's not possible that something is outdated.

Im using SoulseekQt build 2016.4.24

My PC specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Intel Core i7 2600k overclocked to 4,5 GHz

Kingston HyperX Blue 8GB RAM DDR3 1600 Mhz

Nvidia Geforce GTX 980

crikey , i posted a c++ asking why my client keeps crashing, i have just found my answer, cant handle all of my shared files, 643,748 files shared now and its crashing all the time. i guess ill have to wait for a new version of soulseek or stop using it, bugger.

my os is

Win 7 64bit

soulkseek version low mem version or 2018-11-16 happends with both.

nicotine+ seems to handle my amount of shares just fine and allso sorted my closed port issue as well with my vpn. http://www.nicotine-plus.org/

you client gives that messege everytime somebody performs a file search on you. i was suffering the same issue
