I cannot get Soulseek 2019.7.22 (Windows 10) to use the forwarded port number that my VPN assigned to me.  Here's how it goes:
  1. I click Change Listening Port, enter the new port number, click Change and get the message "Changes to the listening port will take effect after a client restart."
  2. I exit the client and try to restart it, but nothing happens when I double-click the Soulseek icon.  Taskmanager shows that SoulseekQT.exe is still running as a background task.
  3. I force exit the app and then relaunch it.
  4. But Soulseek shows the previous listening port.in Options instead of the new one I entered.  So I'm stuck.  What am I doing wrong?
Even if I somehow get this to work, how many forwarded ports does Soulseek need?  ProtonVPN seems to only give me one.  Do I have to forward the obfuscated and server ports too?

Is this the right place to post for help with Soulseek?

I'd say it is, yes.
When u close the window, it doesn't close the client, u have to go in the taskbar on the bottom right, and right click the soulseek icon and select quit. Then check the task manager to see if it worked, which it probably did, but wait a bit if it lingers (if it doesn't close, u have another problem). Only then try to reopen it. If u kill the task, it doesn't actually save ur changes.
