So I recently got Proton VPN because they are one of the few VPNs that support port forwarding, and I've had nothing but success with other clients, but for some reason Soulseek is simply not working. I turn on Port Forwarding and then change the soulseek listening port to the new Active Port, restart soulseek, and when I check it is still closed. Not to mention that there doesn't seem to be a way to open an obfuscated port manually with Proton, so I've attempted to instead set the obfuscated port to be the actrive port instead of the listening port, but that's not working either. Proton says to disable UPnP and NAT-PNP mapping because of conflicts which I have done. I attatched screenshots for some clarity. If anyone can help it would be very appreciated.

I use a VPN before (TorGuard) works fine for a while no issues during until, I went out of town came back month later now Is no longer accessing or even login I turn off the vpn It works but since I do not trust any Government (EVEN THE USA) or ISP looking up my ip history I need new way to port forward with a vpn ether they fix it or not.

Question - if you guys use the port provided by your VPN in a torrent client, and then check a website like https://www.canyouseeme.org to see if the port is open, what does it show?

I'm somewhat convinced the issue is with soulseek not correctly listening on its port, not the VPNs.

I'm not using Proton but I'm also having an issue with Nicotine/Soulseek telling me UPnP failed to forward to external port, even though my port is open and UPnP is enabled.

I haven't found a fix to Proton, I just have to disable it for now. Which I don't like doing.

I was able to download while using ProtonVPN after I unchecked "Enable listening ports"
