I agee with you Lama, people were drifting away from their jobs and I had to take over being a restroom usher and keeping the door closed along with Afeefeh while people were performing their poems. There were some kids who just ran right after me even after I continued to yell at them so I honestly couldn't chase them all by myself. It got really annoying but whatever. Overall though, aside from the whole restroom thing, it was really organized and amazing! :)

Yeah, i agree with the both of you...like i was standing guard over the doors by the bleachers by myself and for a very long time before i noticed that most were sitting down. i mean we were supposed to be scattered around telling kids to "shh!" but whatever, overall it was great :)

btw on a sidenote, what pissed me off the most was that even teachers were talking!!! seriously? it was soo frustrating!

p.s. you and marwa did a good job...if you feel like it wasn't its ok, this is really pretty much the first time you've handled something this big, and you did it well :)

Afeefeh : i do believe that as a whole, we did as best we could with what we had. however, there will always be mishaps, and we really couldn't have done much about it due to the fact that all the mishaps involved either a higher authority or an obnoxious audience member that only a higher authority could handle.

Honestly guys i think we did a pretty amazing job considering it was a first time event. Also if you compare the poetry slam with the talent show.....well there really isn't any comparison so yeah. I agree with what everyone was saying about sitting on bleachers, the jobs just got so frustrating and mixed up that people just didn't feel like wandering around and just sat down. Also it got really frustrating because some people were told to one thing from one person and then told to do something else from another. Also it was kind of annoying when people asked to help and others shot them down. But overall guys don't beat yourself up because you all worked so hard and every event will have there little set-backs right? Also i stayed a little after and herd The Teachers comments and i can honsetly tell you he sounded very pleaseed. Props to Marwa and Lama for pulling this off. The one thing i would say it next time we do an event make sure a lot of people stay back to help out, because i know there were only a couple who stayed after friday to help. (no where am i implying that i was one of these people) but still i keep thinking we did an okay job and then i realize this was stars first ever poetry slam and for a first i think it was a success. If only you guys heard what they teachers/parents were saying about it, you'd realize you guys did an amazing job.!!! Again props to Marwa and Lama...oh and The Teacher! Also props to the Slammers they were all so amazing and i think the last round had be the toughest.!!
