The Smart Array P410i is a RAID controller that supports up to 24 SAS or SATA drives in various configurations. It offers high performance, reliability, and flexibility for server storage solutions. However, some of the advanced features and functionalities of the Smart Array P410i require a software license key to be activated. This license key is known as the Smart Array Advanced Pack (SAAP) and it enables the following capabilities:

- Drive Erase: This allows the user to securely erase all data on a physical drive before disposing or repurposing it. It overwrites the data with random patterns multiple times to prevent data recovery.
The Smart Array Advanced Pack license key is a 25-character alphanumeric code that can be purchased from HP or authorized resellers. The license key can be installed on the controller using the HP Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) tool or the HP Array Configuration Utility (ACU) tool. The license key is valid for one controller and cannot be transferred to another controller. The license key can be removed from the controller if needed, but it cannot be reused on another controller.
Alternatively, there is also an evaluation license key that can be used to test the SAAP features for a limited time. The evaluation license key is 34T62-N84MB-7DQGY-G7XGT-YTQ63 and it can be installed on any Smart Array P410i controller using the same tools as the purchased license key. The evaluation license key is valid for 60 days from the date of installation and it can be removed or reinstalled as needed. However, after 60 days, the SAAP features will be disabled and the cache will be turned off until a valid license key is installed.
The Smart Array P410i license key 12 is a useful software upgrade that enhances the performance, capacity, and security of the server storage system. It enables some of the most advanced RAID levels and functionalities that are not available with the base controller.
