to SOTH 20's and 30's
So last night we had a very good discussion and bit more in depth than
I ever thought it would be. What a thoughtful and insightful group!
We discussed what naming our 'young adult/20's and 30's group' means.
We talked about how we don't want to be exclusive to outsiders or
'boarderline' ages. We also talked about what our group represents
and who we are, what defines us as a group.

Some main points were (and if I am missing some please post!):
- Common interests
- A feeling of groundedness and a time to regroup when we are
together
- Similar stages in life
- A sense of socialness
- A desire to grow with one another
- A desire to grow in our faith
- Service work and/or projects
- Support

After some conversation some name ideas were suggested that represent
these points. Below is a list of the ideas that were brought up. We
decided we want the WHOLE group to help in this decision and thus the
names will be posted here but we want all of you to post other ideas
if you have them. If you really like a name that is posted here then
please 'vote' on it here. At our next meeting we will make a final
decision.

Names:
RE: Group - this came from the idea that when we are together we
regroup and are supported and return to a place that grounds us. The
RE part comes from the technology side of things like reply in an
email or regarding and also encompasses other ideas like return or
rejuvinate.

Transition - this came from the idea that whether we are in our early
twenties or late thirties we are in a constant state of transition in
our lives.

Touchstone - this also came from the same ideas as RE: Group. The
idea of a rock grounding us, a touchstone.

The Radios - this also comes from the idea of being in transition and
that we are on a broadband spectrum (need more info on this one, see
Keith)

Church Keys - I am throwing this one on the table because after our
meeting my mom told me that this was the name of her Young Adult Group
at Messiah Lutheran in Denver many years ago. I love the double
meaning - we are part of the keys to the church and fun! :)

Thanks,
Jenny
