OK Folks, here's the deal. I'm not sure of the appropriateness of such
postings, but this person came directly to me rather than simply
spamming the list, so I'm inclined to give him a bit more leeway, along
with the fact that he is out here doing volunteer standards work. If
folks consider it an inappropriate posting, then let me know privately
off list. I figure that some of you may have an interest in this.

Regards,
Alan Hargreaves

The following was the content of his message:

Good morning, Alan, my name is Ken and I found your contact information
in association with the Open Solaris User Group in Sydney.

My home is in Canada but I'm in Australia this week for an OASIS UBL
Technical Committee standards meeting. I have a week here in Perth
before heading to Sydney next week.

I have arranged some XML-related training in Sydney to try and help
recover some travel costs since volunteer standards work can be so
demanding on expenses.

Is there a user group policy allowing me to announce the upcoming
training to members? If so, may I ask that the information below be
posted?

Thanks for any help you can be!

. . . . . . . . Ken
