The DS-7716NI-I4/16P NVR provides high resolution, high video compression, and HDMI video output up to 4K. 16 independent PoE connections offer easy setup, andsmart search and smart playback make locating specificincidents quick and accurate.

When upgrading NVR from v3.4.x to v4.x, please be sure NVR firmware is at v3.4.92 170518 firmware and perform system factory default before proceed upgrading NVR to v4.x. Failures have NVR at v3.4.92 and perform system factory default prior to upgrading NVR to v4.x could render NVR inoperable.

IMPORTANT! This model requires non-standard firmware. Do Not Install standard firmware (e.g. v.4.1.xx) on this model. Doing so will permanently damage your system. You must use custom firmware v.4.1.25 from the iDS-9632NXI-I8/16S product page.

The I-series NVR (such as the DS-7716NI-I4) is one of Hikvision's most popular and feature-rich recorders. As such, many firmware revisions have been introduced over the years to continually ensure the product is compatible with the newest technology available. Due to the many revisions, we recommend that the user closely follows the instructions below in order to reduce the amount of time spent as well as the chance of failure.

As more affordable IP cameras are introduced over time with greater video resolution and data sizes, more efficient database management also becomes necessary. The introduction of firmware v4.0 brought about a new database architecture in order to be futureproof.

After upgrading to v4.X, the recorder database will need to be converted and optimized. If you are experiencing issues where playback is expected but not found, make sure "Database Repair" is performed as indicated in the procedures and scenarios below.

The Turbo 4 Hybrid DVR K series has multiple models and across different platform and chipset. It also has similar firmware development of other recording product line; DVR K series has also introduced the GUI4.0 to ensure the series to be compatible to the newest technology available. The new database architecture is also brought into the DVR firmware v4.0 to be future proof and for better recording search experience.

If the data has not been recorded or has been overwritten, Database rebuild process is not able retrieve those lost data. Have the system upgraded to the latest available firmware version above to prevent any future data lost is strongly recommended for all application.

I'm working on a project that uses Colorvu cameras from Hikvision, however the general Hikvision IPC driver does not work to integrate it into Control4. What driver do you use to integrate it? I reached out to Hikvision but they said they don't have a driver for this camera.

Thank you for the link - I'm trying to get this driver to work, but it's a no go so far. I'm getting either "CHECK YOUR PORT NUMBERS" or "CHECK YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD" errors, despite those parameters being correct.

Which is weird because at one point I did get all the test URLs to work, though they're not working now (it gives a 403 error saying the URL isn't validated - except for the H.264 URL which passes the test).

I highly recommend using the Chowmain Hikvision driver in that case. Your NVR model is supported, using a new version of firmware that Hik have endorsed for this integration. The latest update allows you to control the NVR via IP, which is really useful if you are using the HDMI output to feed monitors in the house. You can switch camera views, do PTZ etc using your C4 remote. Auto-configures a lot of stuff as well. Comes with an NVR driver, a static camera driver and a PTZ camera driver. Works really well.

On the problems that you were having with configuration, have you checked that all your camera port numbers do in fact match with what you have in the driver ? Can you view your cameras locally on the network via the URLs you are using ?

I use a load of ColorVu cameras with no issue, but I don't bother integrating them (or any other cameras) fully into Control4 viewing because of the lousy 720P resolution restriction. Why hobble a 4K camera back to 720P when there are so many other better ways of viewing it ? I still use all the various triggers for C4 programming, but I use HDMI over CAT to view in the house, and NVMS7000 app to view on a phone remotely.

The V4.1.70 NVR firmware is applied with below products series, download the firmware by clicking the DOWNLOAD button on the page bottom.

Before upgrading to v4.1.10 or v4.22.000 firmware. Be sure the NVR is on at least firmware 3.4.92 or 3.4.93. Failure to have the NVR on either of these firmware versions before upgrading to v4.1.10 or v4.22.000 could render the NVR in-operable.
