Hello SOREEL,
I’m working with EEAO and team of partners to plan a free, open access continuing education program for Oregon’s outdoor educators. As part of our work, we are first researching the desired competencies for incoming field instructors and early-career environmental educators.
We are looking for position descriptions for this analysis. Can you help?
We are seeking position descriptions that outline the skills, abilities and preferred qualifications for outdoor and environmental education jobs. We are defining the field as broadly as possible, so diversity of job types is GREAT! Do you have access to any outdoor education PD’s (either current or historic/archived)?
I would appreciate it if you could share any position description documents you may have on file.
By first coding these PDs and then facilitating focus group discussions, we’ll develop recommendations and a curriculum outline for an Oregon Outdoor Education Certification Program. Let me know if you would like to stay in the loop about our progress or possibly attend a focus group this fall.
Thanks for considering this request!

Let’s get students out there!
Oregon State University is located in the traditional territory of the Ampinefu, or Mary’s River band of the Kalapuya. After the Kalapuya Treaty (Treaty of Dayton) in 1855, Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to what are now the Grand Ronde and Siletz reservations, and are now members of Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon (https://www.grandronde.org) and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (http://ctsi.nsn.us).
