Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN), founded in 2012, has operated throughout most of its existence as a volunteer-led organization. We hired our first full-time staff member as Executive Director in 2024. Located in the beautiful Rogue Valley of SW Oregon, for some 13 years we have been promoting awareness and understanding about the science of climate change and, through the framework of promoting climate justice, encouraging individual and local, state and federal collective action to address the crisis. Since our first ED has decided to continue his education in Portland, SOCAN (socan.eco) now seeks its second Executive Director.
