Hi SOREEL Folks,
It’s been an exciting four years serving as Executive Director at
Siskiyou Field Institute. I’ll be transitioning out of the ED role in early November, and we’re now beginning the search for SFI's next leader.
During this time, we’ve brought SFI back from pandemic-era pilot-light mode and positioned the organization for growth. We now have a strong and dedicated staff, a board that is supportive yet engaged in the right ways, and refreshed business processes to carry the work forward. There is a lot of important and inspiring work on the horizon here at SFI.
I’ve attached the job announcement for the next Executive Director. SFI is seeking a mission-driven leader with nonprofit and conservation experience, strong fundraising and financial skills, proven staff leadership, and the ability to build partnerships across schools, agencies, and tribal communities.
Please feel free to share this posting within your networks. Among you may be someone, or someone you know, who is ready to step into this role and help carry SFI’s work into its next chapter. While I am supporting the process of selecting the new ED, I will not be a part of the final selection. If you are interested and want to chat more about the realities of the role, I’m happy to connect.
To formally apply, see the attached job posting and submit your resume and cover letter to
hir...@thesfi.org with the subject line “Executive Director Application.” Applications accepted through the priority deadline of October 15th, 2025.
Thanks for all you do to keep environmental education and stewardship thriving in this region.
Best,
Steve
