What is Crome?
Simply put, Crome is an OBD1 Honda ROM Editor which lets you edit and add extra features to your stock ECU. This gives the ability for one to run a Honda B/D/H series engine with forced induction systems (ie. turbo, supercharger) or individual throttle bodies.
This License gives tuners the ability to datalogging and tune.
System Requirements
The following are minimum requirements for running Crome.
Windows 98 SE or higher, Windows NT 4.0
Microsoft Scripting Engine and Script Controller
Pentium 400 MHz
128 MB of system memory
10 MB of harddrive space
Serial Port or USB Port
For datalogging with Crome, it is recommended to have have higher system memory.
Setting Up Crome
1. Download the software from tunewithcrome.com
2. Use the password 'pgmfi.org' to continue with the installation.
3. Read the End User License Agreement select to agree or not. If you do not agree with the terms, the installer will terminate the installation process.

8. Click on 'Finish' to complete the installation. You will be given an option to run Crome after installation.
To purchase a Crome Pro or Dealer license and take advantage of the 'Tuner' features of Crome, which includes datalogging, map tracing, and auto-tuning, you will need to do the following
1. Open Crome Editor
2. Go to "Help" and the "Register"
3. Copy the "Serial ID"
4. Add this item to your cart.
5. During your checkout, put the following info in the "Add comments about your order" field box.

This is a hardware-software system designed to tuning Honda OBD1, OBD0 ECU.
Like all versions of CobraRTP, this version also allows tuning in "Real Time", which remains a very important aspect in tuning.
Small dimensions and location allow you to create a "Sports ECU" with an inexhaustible set of functions and capabilities.
A feature of this implementation is the combination of RTP + Datalog working together on one USB port!
Undoubtedly this is very convenient, rather than having a separate adapter for Datalog and two USB ports occupied (as in the case of Moates Ostrich + Extreme Hulog).
At the same time, it is possible to output datalog parameters to the mobile TunerView via on-board Bluetooth module!
CobraRTP also has the ability to download several calibrations (basemap), with the subsequent ability to switch different sets of firmware without the participation of a PC, for example, using a switch!
With the release of the new version of R10 in 2023, new features appeared such as connecting a knock sensor with the ability to monitor and control, and also added an on-board ethanol content sensor converter for direct connection with the ability to switch to E85 fuel!
The advantage of tuning with CobraRTP is the ability to write calibrations (firmware) to the chip after completing the ECU tuning.
This is very important if you are an experienced tuner and customers use your services. This opportunity for example not available on Hondata S300.
Hello!
All orders are now being processed on a first come, first served basis as we received a large number of preorders during the downtime.
Yes, the absence is indeed due to the global shortage of chips, but the situation is stabilizing and we are finding new suppliers.
Can the honda edition r6.0b take advantage of a two timer socket to use both sides of the emulated 64k chip? One 32k bin in the first half and then the second 32k bin on the address of second half of the chip? Or is the emulation a 32k chip?
Crome is a freely available Honda tuning program that, until recently, was extremely popular in Honda tuning circles. It came in both a free version and for pay version called Crome Gold, and is still very popular among hardcore Honda do-it-yourselfers, given that it free and relatively feature rich. One of the features it lacked, however, is Anti-Lag for turbocharged appplications.
Anti-Lag is a way of causing post detonation on purpose in the exhaust system which causes the turbo to spin up, building boost while not causing the engine to be under significant load or risk detonation by sitting on the rev limiter.
While I was browsing -series.org, I discovered one of the users, Speedjunky01, did enough research to come up with a method to induce an anti-lag feature in the Crome tuning application. Here is his procedure:
when you are standing still, the car will run off ONLY the low cam map since vtec speed check is working, so it will retard timing and add fuel off the line creating a true anti-lag. however once moving the ECU will allow vtec to be activated, so you will never hit that area of the map while moving because vtec will activate and switch over to the high cam
Anyway, this feature is exciting, and something I think a lot of boosted honda fans on a budget can appreciate. Despite all the new innovations coming out in for-pay honda engine management, Crome still has a rabbit or two left in the hat.
Remeber, all the Crome ecu modifications and even the notes here are for reference only, as mycomputerninja.com and its owners take no responsibility for what you do with this information.
Could someone help me retune my stock ECU? If preferable the crome tune had some decent results, but open to try something better if known, also located in auckland but don't mind traveling to make it happen
probably a bit late to the party, but recently I have seen guys going to the LINK wire in options like Atom/Monsoon/Storm.
only problem is that these need to be piggy backed off the factory ecu to retain the factory features like AC, keeping the alternator charging the battery.
plus side with these ecus is that any tuner can tune this at any time and you are not limited to people who can do crome or neptune.
The people I have seen install these, including well known workshops, have had to piggy back off the factory ecu to retain factory features like Aircon and alternator signal have to run off the factory ECU because the link, so I stand by my point there.
Each to their own, I know personally for myself, I will be going link as i can go to any tuner at anytime to get the map looked at, not just people that have the software for crome or neptune.
As for 'piggybacking' an aftermarket ECU to the factory ECU in order to retain features from a factory ECU? ... Seems unnecessarily over-complicated. Not to mention that whoever wires it up might know whats going on, but the next poor bugger that has to deal with it is going to have to work out whatever mess is there.
2: You can run full standalone ECU that controls the factory OBD2 stepper motor idle control valve (IACV) (so no IACV mods needed but you will pay 3x price once finished)
NONE of the above require any piggy back off the factory ecu for ANYTHING.
I got a Link G4+ Storm installed into my CL1 Torneo from St-Hitec in Penrose and they told me they had to use the factory ECU as a piggyback system, but then again I think they're mostly used to tuning Nissans and not Honda's. So I'm actually leaning towards that it doesn't need a piggyback cos the job they did tuning my car wasn't very convincing only making 141kw when I've known other H22a's with the same mods and they're making about 160kw from the same ecu.
White EuroRX? yeah thats the exact car i was talking about with the piggyback ECU.
I also have emails from the manager at ST-Hitec confirming they need to piggy back the link to the Factory ecu, to retain the ac output and the alternator charging signal.
Have also talked to others that were going to go LINK but were scared about being piggy back by other workshops also.
