Lookout Mountain 5-points Trail Workday
When: Sat, December 4, 9am – 1pm
Where: 5-Points Parking Area Lookout Mountain (map)
Please join SORBA-Chattanooga as we begin work on the new trail
network located in the area traditionally known as 5-points trail
located on Lookout Mountain. This new trail system will eventually be
linked to both Cloudland Canyon state park and the Lula Lake Land
Trust. All Volunteers are requested to arrive by 9:00 am eastern time
to the parking area located ADDRESS BELOW. Volunteers will begin
working shortly after 9:00 am and continue until approximately 12:30,
at which time work stops for lunch. No experience is necessary,
however it is requested that all volunteers bring a set of gloves and
water, SORBA-Chattanooga will be providing lunch and all required
tools. Directions to 5-Points parking area: From the Incline Railway
at the base of Lookout Mountain drive south through St. Elmo. The road
widens and becomes GA 193. Continue south through light at GA 2A to
Nickajack Rd. On the right. Take Nickajack to the top of the mountain
until the T intersection with Lula Lake Rd. Turn left. Travel south
exactly 4 miles to parking area on right. Look for the SORBA Trail Day
sign.


Thursday Night Group Ride-Raccoon Mtn. Lights Required!!
When: Thursdays 6:00pm – 8:15pm
Where: TVA Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Facility (map)
SORBA-Chattanooga weekly Thursday night mountain bike ride at Raccoon
Mountain starting at 6pm (rolling out of parking lot no later than
6:15pm. Helmets (as always) and lights are required to participate!
TVA has extended permission to SORBA-Chattanooga for Thursday night
group rides, so if you want to see the trail at night come on out!
Ride is self paced and open to riders from novice to expert skill

SORBA-Chattanooga's Wine for the Climb Fundraiser
When: Fri Jan 21 6pm – 9pm Eastern Time
Where: Outdoor Chattanooga- 200 River St. Chattanooga, TN
SORBA-Chattanooga's second annual Wine for the Climb Fundraiser. More
details to come as event nears!!!


Trail Work Weekend Celebration 5-Points SORBA Wide January 22-23, 2011
Where: Cloudland Canyon State Park (map)
Come join SORBA-Chattanooga for a weekend of mountain biking, trail
building, and having an absolute blast! 10:00 am to 4:00 pm trail work
day!!! Lunch, Dinner, and Beverages all provided by SORBA-
Chattanooga!! This work party celebration will begin at 10:00am
Saturday January 22, 2011 at the 5-points trailhead parking area
located at ADDRESS BELOW, where volunteers will begin working on the
new 18 mile trail system located in surrounding area. At 1:00pm
volunteers will break for lunch, following lunch volunteers will
continue working until approximately 4:00 pm. Following the conclusion
of the work day volunteers will shower (if they so choose) at the park
and meet for a celebration from 6-11pm later that evening. On Sunday a
ride at Raccoon Mountain will begin at 10:00 am and will continue
until approximately 1:00 pm. Please let us know if you are interested
in attending so that we can ensure we have room for you to stay and
enjoy this amazing trail work weekend celebration!! Indoor lodging
will be provided at Cloudland Canyon State Park and an amazing
celebration will begin at 6:00pm where all flavors of refreshments,
great food, and fun will be provided free of charge! Make it a
mountain bike weekend celebration by attending Wine for the Climb on
Friday from 6-9pm at Outdoor Chattanooga and enjoy our workday and
follow-up rides on Saturday and Sunday!! More info to come soon!!!
