Please note, SORBA-Chattanooga is in the process of moving its email
list over to a new service. If you received two copies of the
correspondence, it is a result of your email appearing on both lists.
We apologize if this has caused you any confusion. Once we retire the
old list you will again only receive single copy to your in-box.

WANT MORE TRAIL ON RACCOON MOUNTAIN? WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The Raccoon Mt. Trail Expansion project will require funding of
approximately $70K . While donations to IMBA main do benefit
mountain biking, they do not go directly to support SORBA-
Chattanooga's trail fund or to support local trail systems and
building projects such as Raccoon Mt. Enterprise South Nature Park.
These trail expansion projects on Raccoon Mountain specifically will
require a significant amount of materials and construction time to
complete, making it both labor intensive and costly. Without direct
support at SORBAChattanooga.org we can't hope to initiate, let alone
complete, this trail system in the foreseeable future.
Cyclists, hikers and runners all utilize and benefit from these
trails. Please consider supporting SORBA-Chattanooga's trail
construction efforts by donating directly to our trail fund. You will
find a link to donate at www.sorbachattanooga.org

SORBA CHATTANOOGA WEBSITE AND EMAIL LIST UPDATE
The website has been updated and looks great. We’ve also decided to
move our email list to a new provider ("SORBA-Chattanooga Announce"
via Google Groups). This will make it easier for us to manage, as
well as provide the subscriber with delivery options, including an
unsubscribe feature. "SORBA-Chattanooga Announce" is set up as a low-
volume email list for announcements. As a subscriber of this service
you will receive news and site updates consisting of no more than two
emails each month. Like the current service, updates will originate
ONLY from the SORBA-Chattanooga's board of directors.

existing email delivery service soon. You can sign up by going to
bottom of our website www.sorbachattanooga.org and entering in your
email address in the blank and clicking on the submit button. Act

SORBA-CHATTANOOGA EVENTS
Thursday Evening Rides At Raccoon Mountain (STANDING)
When: Thu, November 5, 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Where: Drivepark & TVA Road, TN 37419 (map)
DeScription: SORBA-Chattanooga kicks-off the seasons weekly mountain
bike ride on Raccoon Mountain. Come join us for and after work ride
each Thursday (weather permitting). Meet in the East Brow Parking Lot
at 6 pm. After the ride many riders will head downtown for dinner.
NOTE: Now that the time change has taken effect and it is getting dark
a hour earlier, all Thursday evening rides are officially "Night
Rides." This means that it will be impossible to complete the loop on
top of the mountain without some type of light source.
Club Meeting
When: Mon, November 9, 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Where: Outdoor Chattanooga Building
Description: Monthly Club Meeting. Open to the public and used to
discuss trail work and Mountain bike events in the Chattanooga area.
We will be holding nominations for the 2010 SORBA-Chattanooga Board of
Directors.

Trail Day at Raccoon Mountain
When: Sat, November 14, 9am – 12pm
Where: Drivepark & TVA Road, Chattanooga, TN 37419 (map)
Description: This trail day will focus exclusively on general trail
maintenance, with the goal of addressing a few problem areas before we
start to experience fall and winter rains. No trail work experience
necessary, trail tools will be provided. Lunch will be provided by
SORBA-Chattanooga for all trail volunteers. BRING YOUR BIKE for an
after lunch ride. Work leader: Jeffrey Schaarschmidt ~ president(a)

Turkey Day Ride (NO EVENING RIDE )
