INCREASE EDUCATION AND AWARENSS
AUG 10TH SUMMER OF PEACE CITY WIDE YOUTH RALLY! SPREAD THE WORD!
The main goal of Summer of Peace from its conception was to connect
community agencies, groups, and families for a day of positive fun.
The results have been as planed. More summer events rallies, marches,
pleas for peace on the streets, more cooperation and communication
amongst agencies and organizations all building toward a better
Milwaukee, and young people being exposed and educated on crisis
prevention, peer mediation and solving their own issues before things
get out of hand.
Another important factor in planting the seeds for Summer of Peace 5
years ago was to really look for shining stars and recognize the
positive development of so many young adults and teenagers in the
community.
We believe that the best can be expected from and spoken up in our
youth. Today the young people have a lot of things against them, we
are here to get behind them and push them forward on a positive path.
We provide a much anticipated platform to young achievers and dream
seekers, people who want and need our support & guidance as a
community.
Education and Awareness: means to promote access to a world bigger
than the block. Bigger than bullets and bad guys. There is so much
life and culture available within our youth, just waiting to be tapped
into. We bring the best elements in the community together with drum,
dance, and food .....And yeah a great family time, all the while we are
popularizing and teaching the benefits and power of peace and unity.
Many young adults are secretly searching for ways to be "involved",
"to be apart of the solution" , this is that day where everyone in the
city can find and feel the best of the best amongst us, a space and
time where people young and old, from all nationalities can learn from
each other on how to improve our situation in this city...
Resources from all corners and interests will be on-site, please feel
